Deepika is an Indian Classical Vocalist and a multifaceted, versatile performer. She is a successful play back singer with over hundred songs to her credit as well. Deepika belongs to a family of music connoisseurs. Her debut performance was at the age of 3 for the sixty fourth Birth anniversary celebrations of Dr.M L Vasanthakumari, an ace classical singer. Deepika’s mother Geetha Varadarajan introduced her to music while Deepika’s father Varadarajan was instrumental in the progress of her career.

A disciple of Padmabhushan awardee Sudha Ragunathan and Pandit Prasad Khaparde, Deepika has traveled in India and abroad and won applause from connoisseurs and critics and performs actively for a variety of private, corporate and public events including the prestigious Music Season happening every December in Chennai.
Her Versitilty
Deepika has sung in 6 languages for leading music directors like Ilayaraja, A.R.Rahman, M.S.Vishwanathan, Deva, Vidyasagar, Keeravani, DSP, Jakes Bejoy and Gopi Sundar. She has also acted in a lead role and sung in a popular tele serial “Kaiyalavu Manasu” and its Hindi remake “Chhoti Si Asha” directed by K Balachander, an ace Indian director. Deepika has been a voice actor in movies like “The Lion King”, “Avvai Shanmugi” “Yaan”, “Sandamarutham”, “Uthamavillain”, “Thani oruvan”, “Enakkul Oruvan” and Thiruttu payale 2.
Awards & Recognitions
Deepika is a featured All India Radio A-Grade artist. She has been conferred with titles like “Yuva Kala Bharati” by Bharat Kalachar and “Isai Chudar” by Karthik Fine Arts. However, the highest honor has been the invitation from the U.S.Department of State to participate in the Fusion Arts Exchange program at the Northeastern University, Boston in the year 2008. You can hear Deepika’s voice in the background scores of popular Star Vijay & Sun TV tele serials such as Run, Naayagi, Pandian Stores, Thamizhum Saraswathiyum, Muthazhagu, Mouna Raagam 2, Bharathi Kannamma, Bagyalakshmi, Raja Rani 2 and Katrin Mozhi.

Deepika performs with the legendary singer Shankar Mahadevan on his special concerts. Deepika has been a part of Star Vijay channel’s shows such as “Andrum Indrum Endrum”, “Thamizhukku Amudendru Per”, performed music shows and hosted corporate shows of brands like ITC, Mangaldeep, Packaging Industries, Department of Commerce, Biovedas’ Medicall, Cognizant and TCS
Education
Deepika holds a bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Information Technology) and has also completed undergraduation in Sanskrit. Deepika has chosen music as her profession after completing her education.
